Ramona L. Wilson, Executive Director
Ramona was born and raised in St. Paul. She’s a committed professional, mentor of youth and community leader. She’s received numerous awards and recognition for her efforts and outreach.
Ramona’s career includes two decades with Xcel Energy (NSP) in a variety of positions including IT, community relations and as the Manager of the Supplier Diversity program. In this role, Ramona was named “Top 100 Women Impacting Supplier Diversity.” Additionally, she received awards and recognition from the Twin Cities Business Journal (Minority Advocate Award) and the Minnesota Minority Supplier Development Council.
Ramona is a dedicated community servant. She has served on various nonprofit boards including, but not limited to: Minnesota Minority Supplier Development Council, National Minority Supplier Development Council, Mothers United and West Broadway Business Association. She is a youth mentor and volunteers her services for low-income residents with their annual tax preparations.
Sherree Ellis, Freeport Saint Paul Program Manager
Sherree has many years of experience working in the nonprofit sector including experience as an Executive Director, Youth Advocate and foster parent. She is also a Writer/Producer/Director of various stage plays, as well as talent shows, and community events. Sherree is the Executive Director of Jam with the Lamb Productions, a multi-ethnic community theater group and collaborative partner with the Freeport Saint Paul Youth Center. When not working at the Youth Center or managing the many aspects of the theater company, you can find Sherree actively volunteering in the community.
Dorothy Abellard, Communications Coordinator
Dorothy Abellard joins Freeport after working at American Express Financial Advisors for nearly 13 years. Dorothy feels strongly committed to the values of the nonprofit sector and is excited to put her educational background of Sociology and Black Studies to work for Freeport. Dorothy also brings her knowledge of customer service and skills as a compliance analyst to the table as she will continue to develop Freeport’s internal and external communications and marketing elements.
Dorothy served on the Twin Cities Juneteenth Board for three years and is an avid volunteer in her community.
Tamara Muhammad, Youth Education & Development Program Manager
Tamara is the Program Coordinator for the FamilyWorks Health and Wellness program. She coordinates the Building Well Being with Fitness, Food and Fun program. Her experience includes processing referrals from the county and client support. Prior to joining Freeport, Tamara worked in a correctional facility, providing direct services to inmates.
Linda R. Waters, Community Housing Supervisor
Linda has over 12 years of experience working in youth programming and advocacy for at-risk children, youth, and families. As the Community Housing Supervisor, Linda oversees programming for Freeport’s Community Housing Program including; a scattered site Transitional Living Program (TLP) for homeless youth, Family Homeless Prevention Assistance Program (FHPAP) Youth Rapid Exit Services, Group Residential Housing (GRH) services, and Freeport West’s Youth and Young Parents Host Home Program. Linda has been with Freeport West since 2004. Linda holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Human Services from Metropolitan State University. Previously, Linda worked for the YWCA Children’s Center as a Family Services Coordinator and prior to that, she was an Early Childhood Educator. Her personal mission is to provide unwavering support and guidance to youth and families in achieving their goals of independency, stability, and empowerment.
